Dr. Douglas Hamp M.A., Ph.D. of The Way Congregation, CO, is a well respected teaching figure in Christianity. I say teaching figure and not teacher because I want to make the distinction that simply by giving away knowledge pieces does not make one a teacher in the kingdom. If knowledge of spiritual matters can be learned by book studying and taking examinations, then AW Tozer would never have been the godly and anointed pastor and writer that he was. Spiritual treasures are given through revelation from One Source, that is Elohim, to one whose heart is desiring of Him. I will also bring up not all spiritual knowledge is godly, if you consider that the number of fallen angels and demons outnumber any given generation of living human being today. Many today claim a voice tells them so and so. We will need to judge them by their fruits.
As a Ph.D, Doug Hamp farms out high level insight knowledge. The camber of his materials now depends on the position of his heart toward Elohim. Many credit him for the time he spent in Israel studying the Hebrew. His own bio says, “Douglas Hamp earned his M.A. in the Bible and its World from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and his PhD in Biblical Studies from Louisiana Baptist University. Dr. Hamp’s materials are seemingly solid for when he selects isolated Scripture verses to support his thesis. However, the one who desires the truth is advised to seek the help of the Ruwach haQodesh, for His guidance on godly knowledge or there is an alternative route, through one’s own efforts. In Dr. Hamp’s case, it would be a man’s own dissertation out of an academic approach to the Bible. From my own review of a number of Dr. Hamp’s transcripts, there is not a whole lot of revealed truth but a lot of derived knowledge that did not seem to have the mark of the Ruwach. The teachings from the Ruwach makes a soul glad and the information will bring healing to the very needs of a human soul.
Dr. Hamp wears a Hebrew tallit sometimes when he stands up behind the podium with all four corners of the tzitzot hanging in the front. I say this as an example of how Doug approaches all matters Hebrew. The form is wrong.
Dr. Hamp and I are not on the same page on multiple issues. This by no means is Chuck asking you not to listen to Dr. Hamp. I am only offering my opinion about Dr. Hamp’s teaching materials. Today I will address his “God has a body” doctrine. But just to give an example of the lack of revelation in his materials, I will make mention of one example using one of the subjects that Dr. Hamp is passionate about, the subject of who the elect in the New Covenant are. According to him, pointing toward deconstructing Calvinism, he teaches,
“Scripture bears witness that elect and its derivatives have nothing to do with someone being chosen specifically to eternal life. “
Unfortunately, on the subject of resurrection, Dr. Doug Hamp has a grave misunderstanding that stems from not understanding that the Word of YHVH, our Lord and King, came in the flesh in order to become a son of man. His pre-existent form was not a son of man, He is and always will be the Word of YHVH. The resurrection of the just is a core aspect of the faith in Moshiach, He is our Firstfruits for being imputed eternal life. Without fulfilling the Feast of Firstfruits in prophecy, the seven holy moedim of YHVH, which are the summary of Moshiach’s ministry for mankind, there is to be no glorified body. There will be no life to believers after the body decays or upon expiration or amputation or thru loss or sickness. When Eashoa was raised, He was raised in the identity of a former son of man, a prototype for you and for me who believe in Him and have put our trust in Him.
Eashoa And The Seven Moedim Of YHVH
I will mention the Seven Holy Moedim of YHVH and how this relates to the flaw in Dr. Hamp’s thesis on the “God Has A Body” talk. We learn from the Torah that
“from generation to generation” Israel shall observe these feasts and the Shabbat. And we come to know in the benefit of hindsight, where we are in 2019, that in the first two Moedim, Eashoa came in Incarnation of the Word, as a son of man, wearing the title of The Son Of Man. He was killed on The Passover on the Cross and He was buried in Joseph’s sepulchre. In the third Moed, following Pesach and HaMatzah, He took on the glorified body for a redeemed and justified man in the HaBikkurim and appeared to 500 people in 40 days following His resurrection.
You may be more familiar with these names for the first three holy feasts of the Lord as the Passover, Unleavened Bread and First Fruits. The chance is, the majority of people have not even heard First Fruits mentioned before them before. Review all of them in Letivicus 23. A citation from the Blue Letter Bible:
The 23d chapter of the Book of Leviticus gives us an account of the “Seven Great Feasts” of the Lord. They were a prophecy and foreshadowing of future events, part of which have been fulfilled, and part are yet to be. They are the “shadow of things to come,” of which Christ is the “body” or substance. Col. 2:16,17. They were “Holy Convocations” of the people. They were instituted by the Lord.
In 1 Qorinthiym 15, Paul used a whole chapter worth of text to describe how sin and death was put aside because of the works of Eashoa in His death and resurrection. In the fourth through to the seventh Moedim, Eashoa will come to earth in His glorified body to carry out His prophetically announced ministry on the earth, namely, to redeem the Bride to the Marriage in paradeisos upon the second Trumpet of Joel’s (the last trumpet sound), to come as Shiloh with His Bride and His scepter to rule over Israel and the nations, to administer the restoration of the corrupted earth since Adam and satan (Read Zephaniah 3) and to dwell bodily for 1,000 years to govern the earth in the Millennial Reign on earth (Read Zechariah 14).

Part Three: Bodies of Light and Adam’s Biophotons
Doug Hamp teaches that the new bodies will be “like God’s” and be like the “angels'”. Upon first read, it did not seem to be wrong at all, since Eashoa is sent by God and He is God, God being the title or better still, use the word the Godhead. In 1 Qorinthiym 15, Paul writes in the letter:
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
Paul detailed how the hope of men all hinges on the resurrection of Moshiach, not just the death of Him on the cross. In fact, Paul did not say that the resurrected saints will be like God’s nor the angels’.
DH: ”God has a form and here is what Scriptures tell us.”
Scripture Admonishment –
Elohim is spirit (in nature and quality). God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
In context – ToLV, the Old Testament has always prophesied that a Messiah will come some day that is born as a son of man.
20 For our citizenship is in heaven,
and from there we eagerly wait for the Savior,
the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.
21 He (Yeshua) will transform this humble body of ours
into the likeness of His (Yeshua’s) glorious body,
through the power that enables Him
even to put all things in subjection to Himself.
In context, Eashoa became our First fruits by rising to be the Life Giving Spirit ( 1 Corinthians 15:45 ) from a dead man. Eashoa paved the way for mankind to live an everlasting life even after death by rising!
In context, this passage is not talking about God having a body but that the Messiah, God in the flesh, gave mankind a new body type by going through the process itself in order to be our prototype. When we adhere strictly to Scripture, Scripture has everything that we need to understand unto wisdom from what God has in store for us.
1 Corinthians 2:9
9 But, as it is written,
l“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
