In Part I, we shall obtain the correct definition of the word “woe” from Scripture and look into the use of the word in the Book of Revelation. We will proceed to delve into the description given concerning the sounding of the sixth trumpet.
The word in Greek that is used in Revelation 9 is ouai. It is a primary exclamation of grief; “woe” expresses an emotion toward something that is grievous. In Hebrew, it is hôy, it means “O”, “Alas!”.
There are 103 mentions of the word “Woe” in the Bible. It means sorrow. Many shady people misunderstand the meaning of the word “woe” for a curse. When they read Matthew 23 where Eashoa expresses eight woes to the Prooshim and the scribes of Israel in 30 AD, these shady people take the Lord to be placing curses like He did on the fruitless fig tree. Setting the record straight, the fig tree is symbolic of the nation of Israel in all its elders, priesthood and regular Israelites. They all failed Adonai for showing no fruit, no fig fruits on the tree when the Heir came to check on the orchard in His First Advent.
But the 8 woes in Matthew 23 are directed toward those who were in position to make a difference and unfortunately, they used the leverage on the nation in a crooked way. For that, Eashoa feels saddened for them for, “to him who is given much, much more will be required”. Much more is required of Israel than of Persia. Israel was sent the Prophets from Adonai.
On the contrary, His 8 woes (sorrows) in Matthew 23 are part of His mercies and compassion upon these elders of Israel as part of the sign of Jonah which He had told to the Prooshim that He would give. In 40 years, unless they repented, they too would be overthrown. In 40 years, indeed the City of Jerusalem was raided and razed to the ground by Titus in 70 A.D. in the Revolt Of The Jews in the Roman Empire.
Out of the 103 uses of woe, the last 8 mentions are found in the Book of Revelation that describe the casualties of sinners who were given grace to repent but they blew their opportunities. Again, the context is in judgment after opportunity.
Let us review all 8 mentions in the Book of Revelation. Coincidence? The number of “8”. These 8 mentions also end all further mentions of the word woe in the Bible. Thank the Lord!
Three mentions are in Revelation 8 as an announcement that a set of 3 Woes are about to be released to the earth.
The fourth mention of woe turns up in Revelation 9. It concludes the fifth trump, and two additional woes are in the wings.
At this point, we come to a count of 5 mentions.
In Revelation 11, there are the 6th and the 7th mentions . The 6th mention
1 Counts 1 through 3 are a preview of the following events that will arrive on the earth. In Revelation 8:13, the woes are introduced and defined by a flying angel. This angel does not need a ride, a chariot to glide in the air. He is like the announcer to the “rest of the show”, introducing the last woes of the Bible before good things are handed to all the people who love Eashoa.

And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
4 Counts 4 – 5 (Chapter 9). Count no. 4 concludes the fifth trumpet. But it says this is only the first of three to the end.
Counts 6 -7 (Chapter 11). This is a key woe. Between Revelation 9:12 to Revelation 11:13 which ends in the command for the two dead witnesses to ascend to God’s side, the second woe is sent.
6 The sixth mention concludes the second woe, which is inclusive of the sixth trumpet sounding and the revealing of the identity of the antichrist in Revelation 11. The House of Israel and the Bride of Christ will face off to the abomination of desolation as God’s two olives trees. They will be killed in the streets of Jerusalem in defiance to the antichrist. They will continue to prophesy and witness to our last breath for the glory of our Father in heaven. In three days, in the model after our Lord, we too shall be resurrected upon the command of Elohiym. Then those others in the revived House of Israel and the Bride who are not in Jerusalem, shall meet the Lord and us in the air as in 1 Tasloniqim 4.
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
When Paul says those who are “the dead in Christ shall rise first “, that group of believers shall contain regardless of time and history, all who are believers who went to sleep, which is a euphemism for the biological death. All those who died since Abel, the first human being who died, to Stephen, the martyred deacon in Acts , the first disciple who died in the Brith Hadashah, they shall rise. Those who died since Stephen all the way to the Two Witnesses believers from just three days before, we shall also rise. We will rise to meet the Lord to receive the new, resurrection body prepared for by Father for a different purpose.
The actual account is as follows. Even the rising of the Olive Trees in the air shall be used one last time to testify for Elohiym.
And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
7 The seventh mention gives a detail on the promptness of the next woe. It will come quickly on the heels of the second woe. It is almost saying that once the second woe goes forth, the last two woes will proceed almost continuously until the wrath of God is satisfied upon the evil and the haters receiving their due respect for their deeds and rebellion.
8 Count 8, the last mention refers to the embodiment of the devil “is come down unto you”. His wrath will punish all those who remain on earth after the Two Olive Trees are summoned to “Come up here”.

8 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Here is the account of the vision seen by John concerning the sixth trumpet. We come to understand that the sounding of the sixth trumpet shall herald the beginning of the second woe.
This is the first trumpet event among the seven where massive human casualties will be impacted by a combination of supernatural forces (the 4 angels) and . The mission instructed to the 4 angels will be to take out one third of the world population in their massacre.
The Two Olives Trees, along with the Twelve Branches from the House of Israel that are revived in Revelation 7 and the Bride will have been summoned to Elohiym by this juncture in the last days. So I know I won’t be around to find out what the 4 angels look like. And if you have placed your trust in Eashoa the Son of God, and you are covered by His blood, proving that you love Him by walking in Eashoa’s statutes, you shall be in your resurrection body by this trump.
13And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,
14Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.
15And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.
16And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.
17And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.
18By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.
19For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
20And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
21Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
