A summary of all the required offerings from the Old Testament replaced in the New Covenant.
Yeshua paid the ransom for me. His sacrifice is the means by which God delivers, or saves, humankind from sin and death. The Bible refers to the shed blood of Yeshua as a ransom price. His blood washes me white as snow. Though my sins are as bright scarlet, Yeshua made it white as snow by pouring out His blood for me. I am not sure about you but it is true for me. It is because in the New Covenant, atonement is rendered on an individual basis, not at the national level nor at the “Church’s” level. Individuals who passed the word of mouth pardon for on the basis of confession, enter into the assembly of the New Covenant.
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
A final trial will take place upon the completion of the journey of living. One who has satisfied the contractual agreement in life will receive a white stone of acquittal according to Yeshua. Paul cannot overemphasize the importance of running the race and to complete it without forfeiture.
In 1 Corinthians 9 24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives sthe prize? So trun that you may obtain it. 25 Every uathlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we van imperishable.
In 2 Timothy 2
Unfortunately today, many congregations are in rebellion by teaching a concept that is not contained in the Gospel. They do not teach about the importance of running and completing the race.
In the last days in the generation where the antichrist is revealed, many will join the great falling away. Those will not be keeping the faith. They will be out of the covenant.
In Revelation 2, Yeshua the One who walks among the seven lamp stands addresses the Ekklesia at Pergamos. Read the explanation here.
The Torah was strict for the Mosaic Covenant. The Covenant was between הוה’ and the nation of Israel on a national level. This is in contrast with the New Covenant where Elohiym takes on an individual level. In both cases, all are protected by the law (lower case) in the binding terms of each covenant in question. So before you say “yes” to signing the Covenant, should you not inspect the small print first before you agree to the terms. When you apply at the local state DMV for a driver’s license, you by default signed up to the ordinances that govern the use of a vehicle and the conduct of a legally licensed driver. Once binding, you will enjoy all the benefits as well as the penalties for honoring and dishonoring that contract. In traffic, in this analogy, there is traffic court. In the divine covenant there is the Judgment Seat of Christ.
In legal opinions, a person who writes a contract is often called a drafter. Yeshua is the drafter of both the Mosaic and the New Covenants. In the Mosaic Covenant, He was the Word of God. If the person who is bound by a contract writes it him or herself, he is a party to the contract. Therefore, in the Mosaic Covenant, the Word of הוה’ and the nation of Israel, the twelve tribes were the parties. In the New Covenant, the Word of הוה’ and all the individuals who believe on the name of Yeshua (Jesus, meaning God salvation) are all parties bound by the covenant. Whereas in the Mosaic Covenant, there were two parties, in the New Covenant there is the party of the Word of הוה’ and millions of parties in the form of believers.
Both of those terms refer to a “role” that a person takes in connection with a contract. New Covenant believers in Christ are parties to the covenant. Each one of us is responsible for our thoughts, deeds and words.
The Judge will judge each individual on his or her own on account of his or her actions according to the binding powers of the New Covenant. That is why there will be a court called the Great White Throne and the parable of the Sheep and the Goats.
Revelation 20:11 – Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.
Evidence will be presented for the trial of each individuals. In Daniel, the Prophet saw many many books are opened on the day of Judgment. God is not going to judge someone based on a feeling or an opinion. He got books and volumes of them that document the good and the bad according to the binding articles of the covenant.
Daniel 7 (The Word of הוה’ is the Ancient of Days)
The Ancient of Days Reigns
9 “As I looked, thrones were placed,
and the Ancient of Days took his seat;
his clothing was white as snow,
and the hair of his head like pure wool;
his throne was fiery flames;
its wheels were burning fire.
10 A stream of fire issued
and came out from before him;
a thousand thousands served him,
and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him;
the court sat in judgment,
and the books were opened.
Compare the details of this description of the Figure at the center of the vision to the One in Ezekiel 1 and 10. It is the One and the same Word of הוה’ , my Lord and King, the Only Way to the Father in the New Covenant. His throne was fiery flames. It is magnificent!
In one son of man, Yeshua came to fulfill the offerings intimated in the Old Covenant in the New Covenant.
1. Grain offering. I AM the bread of life.
John 6:35 – Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
John 6:51 – I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”
Revelation 2:17a – He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will give some of the hidden manna
He fulfilled the Feast of Unleavened Bread as He laid dead in the cave.
2. Guilt offering. By His stripes we are healed. He was pierced for OUR iniquity. Admit guilt to receive the offering.
Psalm 22:16 – For dogs encompass me; a company of evildoers encircles me; they have piercedmy hands and feet—
Isaiah 53:5 – But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
Zechariah 12:10 – “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.
3. Sin offering. He died, who had no sin. He was perfect in the Law. Acknowledge the perfection of Jesus as our propitiation for sin. He is the High Priest that did not need to atone for His own sin.
2 Corinthians 5:21 – For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Hebrews 4 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
4. Wave offering. Yeshua came to fulfill the Feast of First Fruits, the third Feast of יהוה, when He rose on the third day at Saturday sundown. Aaron waved the first sheath of the barley grain in accordance with the Torah. Yeshua was that grain that came up out from the earth when He rose as the life quickening spirit.
1 Corinthians 15:45 English Standard Version (ESV)45 Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”;[a] the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
5. Burnt offering. He went to the cross. From the third hour to the ninth hour on the day of the Feast of Passover, Yeshua became that Passover Lamb as He was the burnt offering under the sun lifted up atop from the cross all by Himself in the eyes of the House of Israel.
John 19:28 – After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “Ithirst.”
Exodus 12 9 Do not eat any of it raw or boiled in water, but lroasted, its head with its legs and its inner parts.
Yeshua prepaid for the pardon of the nation of Israel for when she will return to God in the last days. He became that spouse by proxy to take on her penalty for her adultery.
2 “Plead with your mother, plead—
for zshe is not my wife,
and I am not her husband—
that she put away aher whoring from her face,
and her adultery from between her breasts;
3 lest bI strip her naked
and make her as cin the day she was born,
and dmake her like a wilderness,
and make her like a parched land,
and kill her with thirst.
The disciple who is following Yeshua all the days of his life continues to be shown revelation of the Messiah that came to save him. All the days of our lives, as disciples, we should abide in Him and never stray away from Christ. The Word of God will continue to soften our hearts as we live to meet Him as His sons of righteousness.
