Elisha The Man Of God Series, 6

A Commentary of 1 Kings 19

YHVH spoke to Elijah. His namesake means YHVH is my God.

Scripture in 1 Kings 19.

1 Kings 19:18 Yet will I leave [Me] seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth which has not kissed him.

💭 A believer who has not served “the other god”, Baal, is a virgin soul to God. That soul has never had a union with Baal. Their first love remains from start to finish with YHVH. There are examples of individuals in the Bible who has never “been with Baal”.

In the narrative we look for the expression “all his days”. Joshua son of Nun, fit this exclusivity.

🌧 Joshua 4:14 On that day Yahweh magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

Josiah of Judah was given a great testimony by Ezra the scribe.

🌧 2 Chronicles 34:33 Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of Israel, and made all who were found in Israel to serve, even to serve Yahweh their God. All his days they didn’t depart from following Yahweh, the God of their fathers.

💭 Neither have their lips kissed up on Baal. It is an idiom for saying they have no affection for Baal. It could also mean they had not succumbed to pressure against their will to do something they did not like. Think about the coworker who you think is kissing up on your boss. The latter explanation condemns the acts even if it is not the intent of the art. A child may be caught by loss prevention at shoplifting. The child may cry, “I did not mean to steal!” But he is still guilty of the theft.

Recall Judas Iscariot betrayed the Lord with a cheap kiss. He was pretending to have affection on the man that he was going to sell out on. We cannot be kissing Baal for temporary cheap favors as believers lest we lie to ourselves.

💭 And God has saved the 7,000 for His use in the days of Elijah to overthrow the evil House of Akhab and Jezebel the power duo. This arc foreshadowed Revelation 14.

💭 Akhab and Jezebel are typology for the state and religion systems in Revelation. The beast in Revelation will sacrifice the harlot. Mystery Babylon will be destroyed. These two are the power duo today. Many people are brain Tide done in for by the spirit of religiosity.

🌧 Then I looked, and behold, the Lamb was standing on Mount Zion, and with Him were 144,000 who had His name and His Father’s name written on their foreheads.

💭 In the Old Testament starting in the Torah, God counts by name each that belongs in His camp. It is like the teacher calling the roster in the morning. No one is just a “number” to God. AI does that with a scan code. Father knows your name and mine if you are saved. Unsaved people in the Bible have been noted that their names were redundant to Scripture. While the Lord mentioned the name of the beggar Lazarus, no one knows the name of the rich man.

There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:

20And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,

21And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

Today we have many people whom Jesus will say “on that day”, I never knew you. Their names won’t be mentioned, not because the Omniscient, All-Knowing, transcendant God is lacking in knowledge, for that is impossible, but it is because their names are blotted out of the Book of Life.

The Book of Shemot in Hebrew becomes “Exodus” in the Western Bible. Verse 1 begins this way.

🌧 Exodus 1:1 Now these are the names of the sons of Israel, who came into Egypt (every man and his household came with Jacob).

💭 Both Jews and Gentiles have been known to follow pagans. With exception. The field is narrow as the way is narrow. A gentile who has “done” Christmas has already kissed Baal. Christ was born at Sukkot, never confuse that to be on December 25. One who “did” Easter has already kissed Ishtar. So that rules out all the Catholics. It is debatable whether the act committed will be absolved by the heart’s intent. Fully forgivable but having the act absolved and annulled is up for debate. God forgives the one who confesses and repents.

🌧 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

💭 These definitely will rule out the Calvinists and the OSAS and the antinomians in one single strike. Calvinists make repentance to God optional. Sardis best describes the TULIP from Revelation 3.

🌧 Revelation 3:1 “And to the angel of the assembly in Sardis write: He who has the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars says these things:

“I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.

💭 A description is given that two names are on the foreheads of these individuals. The names of the Lamb and the Lamb’s Father were written. From Ezekiel we learned that God writing on the forehead is the Hebraic speak of sealing.

🌧 Ezekiel 9:4 Yahweh said to him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark on the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry over all the abominations that are done in the midst of it.

Sealing means no thing can change the sealed item. No harm may come to these 144.000. Let alone be beheaded by the AC guy. This vision should post date chronologically the Gathering.

2 And I heard a voice from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and the booming of loud thunder.

The voice I heard was like harpists playing on their harps. 3 And they are singing a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one is able to learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.

💭 The angelic orders of the Elders and the four living creatures were mentioned again from chapter 4.

💭 Redemption points to the atonement by the blood of the Lamb.

💭 Another description is given about the 144,000, only they may learn the song being sung at the throne. Therefore this vision is upon a scene in the throne room.

4 These are the ones who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins.

💭 This description rules out the suggestion that they could be angels. The verse did not say these men abstained from marital relation intercourse. The key word is “defile”. Defile as interpreted from the Torah in Genesis and Leviticus cover sexual and spiritual connotations. The word is used 3 times referring to the rape of Jacob’s daughter Dinah. Then it is used in an incestual relationship context between Reuben and Aunty Bilhah.

🌧 Genesis 34:5 Now Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah, his daughter; and his sons were with his cattle in the field. Jacob held his peace until they came.

🌧 Genesis 49:4 Boiling over as water, you shall not have the pre-eminence; Because you went up to your father’s bed; Then defiled it. He went up to my couch.

💭 Then follow mentions in Leviticus concerning bestiality and ritual concerns. And then spiritual defilement.

🌧 Leviticus 18:30 Therefore shall you keep my charge, that you not practice any of these abominable customs, which were practiced before you, and that you not defile yourselves therein: I am Yahweh your God.

💭 The Word of God already says man’s customs define an individual. Do we follow customs and serve God at the same time? The world over is deceived by dipping. Serve the LORD only. All other ways are defilement and pardoning. People are doing rinse and repeat.

These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes.

These have been redeemed from among mankind as firstfruits for God and the Lamb.

5 And in their mouth was found no lie—they are blameless.

The last days manifestation of the Elijah’s 7,000 shall be these 144.000 faithful men.

This vision concluded rather abruptly. That was all John saw. He did not say whether they were going anywhere except they were following the Lamb wherever He goes. These men are true followers and obedient bond servants of Jesus Christ, not the part timers.
