The original menorah. Numbers 8 8 1 And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying, [instructions]
2 “Speak to Aaron and say to him, When you set up the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the lampstand.”
3 And Aaron did so: he set up its lamps in front of the lampstand, as יהוה the Lord commanded Moses. 4 And this was the workmanship of the lampstand, hammered work of gold. From its base to its flowers, it was hammered work; according to the pattern that the Lord had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand.
In יהוה ‘s instructions, there are 2 objects and an operator (Aaron). – the lamps (7X) – the lamp stand (1X) The arrangement that was instruction was simple — they shall give light in front of the lampstand. So it is clear that the lamp stand alone is not going to give light at all. And the lamps alone will give light but they would not illuminate far for lack of height. The lamp stand is literally the – platform – for which the flames will be elevated above the ground. At a suitable altitude, the light shall illuminate far. Think of a lighthouse by the shore. It gives light to ships passing in the night to not run ashore to wreckage. So are the lamp stand acts as the bearer of the 7 lamps for serving the purpose of giving out light. Oil – pure olive oil – was instructed to be used as fuel for the lamps, as in Exodus 27.
“And you shall command the children of Israel that they bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to cause the lamp to burn continually.
“In the tabernacle of meeting, outside the veil which is before the Testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening until morning before the LORD. It shall be a statute forever to their generations on behalf of the children of Israel. This is the symbol of Israel, the seven branched menorah lamp stand. Israel was appointed to be a light to the nations. When Israel proved herself to be a dysfunctional lamp stand, Y’shua came to establish a New Covenant and instituted a second lamp stand, which He used as an identity symbol for the New Covenant Church. In Revelation 1, the Lord was seen by John to be walking among the seven lamp stands, the complete Church of the New Covenant. Matthew 5, the expression “the light of the world” was the name given to the 7 branched Jewish Menorah standing in the Temple that was lit up on the Day of Atonement to illuminate the whole City of Jerusalem.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that[b] they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. In time, the original lamp stand will be lit up again when the nation of Israel is gathered back together to Adonai.
This step is necessary before the witnessing to the antichrist can happen. For in Revelation 11, YHVH says His two lamp stands shall stand side by side in Jerusalem.
