Torah and Nevi’im, Hints Of The Shofar

The children of Yisrael received from Adonai in multiples places in the Torah a special chuqqah (statute) to sound the shofar. This set us apart from all the other nations in the earth. The chuqqah goes from generation to generation.

Leviticus 23 (Torah section)

24 “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe a day of solemn rest, a memorial proclaimed with blast of trumpets, a holy convocation.

Isaiah 27 (Nevi’im section)

And in that day [1] a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were lost in the land of Assyria and those who were driven out to the land of Egypt will come and worship the Lord on the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

Notation, [1] At the Second Coming.

It is because the mass of breath that is caused to blast out of the ram horn walls will remind us of that night where our fathers crossed en masse the Red Sea. The way of passage, the hope of life, was between wall to wall of water on dry ground. Meanwhile the malach of YHVH back in Egypt executed the firstborn of every household who chose not to obey YHVH. It is better to obey than sacrifice, as Samuel told Dawid.

The East wind (the Ruwach haQodesh) blasted upon the sea all night of the Tenth Plague to make The Way for the children to cross and leave Egypt behind.

Indeed, Bayam Derekha (Your Way was in the sea, Tehillim 77| 19. YHVH gave our fathers The Way in our passage from the world of sinfulness and wickedness to freedom in the Son.

And so we remember the grace of Adonai for saving us as we sound a miniature version of The Way of salvation. That is the ram’s horn, righteousness in the Son.

Shemot 14 (A Prefigure Of the Shofar Blast from the lips of Elohai)

YHVH moved the sea[o] with a strong east wind all night, and he made the sea become dry ground, and the waters were divided. 22 And the Israelites[p] entered the middle of the sea on the dry land. The waters were a wall for them on their right and on their left. 23 And the Egyptians gave chase[q] and entered after them—all the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his charioteers—into the middle of the sea.

The redeemed bnei have a special relationship with Elohai (our God).
